Coaching Boundaries & Disclaimer

Divorce is one of life's most significant transitions. My role is to provide a supportive, structured coaching environment that helps you gain clarity, organise your thinking, prepare for important conversations and make informed decisions throughout separation and divorce.

Coaching is future-focused and client-led. The responsibility for all personal, legal, financial and parenting decisions remains with you.

What coaching can help with

Divorce coaching may help you:

  • Understand where you are in the divorce process.
  • Organise information and priorities.
  • Prepare for meetings with lawyers, mediators and other professionals.
  • Prepare questions before appointments.
  • Improve communication and reduce reactive responses.
  • Build confidence in your own decision-making.
  • Navigate uncertainty and overwhelm.
  • Clarify personal values and priorities.
  • Create practical action plans and prepare for life after divorce.

Coaching supports preparation and decision-making. It does not replace professional advice.

What coaching does not provide

As a CDC Certified Divorce Coach®, I do not provide:

  • Legal advice, legal interpretation, legal strategy or court representation.
  • Financial, tax or investment advice.
  • Mediation services.
  • Therapeutic counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis or treatment.
  • Parenting assessments.
  • Recommendations about whether you should accept or reject legal agreements or settlement proposals.

Where appropriate, I may encourage you to seek advice from a suitably qualified professional.

Working alongside other professionals

Divorce often involves a team of professionals, each with a different role. Lawyers provide legal advice; financial advisers, accountants and tax specialists provide financial guidance; mediators facilitate discussions; and therapists and counsellors provide emotional and psychological support.

Divorce coaching complements these professionals by helping you prepare, organise your thinking, understand your options and engage more effectively with the right professional at the right time.

Preparation is not a substitute for professional advice. It is intended to help you make better use of the advice you receive.

Educational information and professional independence

This website provides general educational information to support understanding and preparation throughout separation and divorce. It should not be relied upon as legal, financial, tax, therapeutic or other professional advice.

Any professional directory or reference is a general resource, not an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of outcomes. You remain responsible for selecting the professional most appropriate for your circumstances.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed during coaching sessions is treated as confidential and handled with respect. Information will not normally be shared without your permission.

Limited exceptions may apply where disclosure is required by law, there is a serious risk of harm, safeguarding obligations arise, or you give express permission. Where appropriate and safe, I will seek to discuss necessary disclosure with you.

Coaching and personal responsibility

Coaching is collaborative. You remain responsible for your decisions, actions, professional advice and how you apply the outcomes of coaching conversations.

No guarantees can be made regarding legal or financial outcomes, agreements, mediation results or court decisions.

Emergency and crisis support

Coaching is not an emergency service and is not appropriate for crisis intervention. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or you require urgent medical or mental health support, contact local emergency services or an appropriate specialist service immediately.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, coercive control, threats of violence, or believe your safety or your children's safety is at risk, seek immediate assistance from the appropriate emergency services or specialist support organisations in your country.

Commitment to professional practice

My approach is founded on preparation, understanding and informed decision-making. My aim is to help you move from uncertainty towards greater understanding, preparation and confident action while working alongside the appropriate professionals for your circumstances.
